...As council approves his one year tenure elongation
Last few days, the governing council of the university of lagos held plenary  the sitting of the council was mainly to decide the fate of mr.olurotimi  shomidu's tenure as registrar, expected to expire later this year.the council unanimously passed a resolution to the effect that the registrar's tenure is extended   by an extra year.According to a reliable source, the university's constitution permits such in same circumstances on the grunds of excellent service and outstanding performance by the principal office and at that a vote of confidence is passed to  that effectby the council.mr.shodimu's tenure will now run for 6 year as against the  normal 5 year and expires next year when he will hand over the mantle evevtually.

The registrar's tenure elongation however,is not a bolt from the blue, as he actually merits it -give nhis stellar leadership qualities, studient-friendliness, down to -the earth personality, and a mertorious stewardship as registrar, unversity of lagos.hismature and leadership role is commendable when after the v.c.'s demise: he
took over a father figure and stood in for his last boss.

During the unilag name change saga, worthy of note is the unflinching duly, gave to the cause of the unviersity-his Alma matter and the student body.

it is therefore, thumbs up to the council for recognizing and rewarding daiy, dilingence in service and finding the registrar befitting of another opportunity to serve his alma-matter.

it is also congratulations from our end to the amiable and indefatigable Registrar, oluworotimi O.A.shodimu,ESq..while encouraging him to still bear in mind his proposed construction of the Archive and other uncompleted projects, and put all these in place before his tenure elapses. We also enjoin him to see to it that the 2012/2013 graduating students will be a part of the October/November NYSC batch as Ontains in other institutions.
